In September of 2001 I took a grand tour of all the major European castles. Starting in France I toured Versailles, Mont St. Michel, Angers, Villandry, Blois, Chenonceau, Chambord and Fontainebleau in Loire Valley, Bouillon in Belgium, Heidelberg, Rothenburg, Neuschwanstein, Linderhof, Herrenschiemsee and Nymphenburg in Germany, and Hohensalzburg in Salzburg.
